In New York City, homelessness is a major problem, and for the past 20 years, Common Ground has worked to solve it. Working in the community, they identify the common causes of homelessness and work to prevent them. They also provide temporary shelter as well as longer-term affordable housing. In 2007, Common Ground also implimented changes to make their organization more environmentally-friendly.
