Billy Raftery moved to Durbin, South Africa after graduating from Columbia University.  Upon his arrival Billy was struck by the number of homeless children in his neighborhood on the Durbin beachfront.  Shortly after befriending the feared “street kid”  population of Durbin he founded the Children Rise Foundation.  The Children Rise Foundation sets out to empower former street kids to help those children currently living in the streets of South Africa.
